An integrated dynamic weighing system based on SCADA
Journal Title: Operations Research and Decisions - Year 2015, Vol 25, Issue 2
Abstract
For this reason, there is a lot of research concerned with weighing signal processing, mechanical mattersA prototyped dynamic weighing system has been presented which integrates together three advanced software environments: MATLAB, LabVIEW and iFIX SCADA. They were used for advanced signal processing, data acquisition, as well as visualization and process control. Dynamic weighing is a constantly developing field of metrology. Because of the highly complicated structure of any electronic weighing module, it is vulnerable to many sources of environmental disturbances and functionality of the system. In the paper, some issues connected with dynamic weighing have been presented, and the necessity of implementing signal processing methods has been discussed. Implementation of this feature is impossible in the majority of SCADA systems. The integration of the three environments mentioned above is an attempt to create an industrial system with capabilities to deal with major dynamic weighing problems. It is innovative because it connects the industrial SCADA, laboratory/industrial product LabVIEW and MATLAB. In addition, the algorithms responsible for process control and data exchange are presented. The paper includes a description of the capabilities, performance tests, as well as benefits and drawbacks, of the system. The outcome of the research is a prototyped system and evaluation of its usefulness.

Localizing of the atmospheric contamination source based on the Kori field tracer experiment data
Accidental releases of hazardous material into the atmosphere pose high risks to human health and the environment. Thus it would be valuable to develop an emergency reaction system which can recognize the probable locati...
A method of assigning a global preference index
The issue of decision-making has been examined based on the preferences of the entire population, when the preferences of a few subpopulations varying significantly in size are known. The purpose of assigning global pref...
The effectiveness of discriminant models based on the example of the manufacturing sector
The best models of bankruptcy prediction have been selected that can indicate the deteriorating situation of a company several years before bankruptcy occurs. There are a lot of methods for evaluating the financial state...
Dimension, egalitarianism and decisiveness of European voting systems
An analysis of three major aspects has been carried out that may apply to any of the successive voting systems used for the European Union Council of Ministers, from the first one established in the Treaty of Rome in 195...
Finding the Pareto optimal equitable allocation of homogeneous divisible goods among three players
We consider the allocation of a finite number of homogeneous divisible items among three players. Under the assumption that each player assigns a positive value to every item, we develop a simple algorithm that returns a...
