AN OVERVIEW OF THE BASIC PRINCIPLES OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF EUROPEAN STANDARDS FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF THE ELECTORAL PROCESS

Abstract
The procedure of European governance in the field of electoral organization, realization of active and passive law on the age qualification of citizens of the state, their rights and duties regarding the exercise of electoral rights are determined. The general principles of the electoral law and its implementation in the European administration in the acquis communautaire (community work) are outlined, which are normatively enshrined in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. The core of European standards for electoral governance, above all, are five principles of electoral law: universality, equality, free, direct suffrage and the principle of secrecy of voting, a detailed explanation of which is given. An analogy is drawn between the EU states in accordance with the principles of the Constitution.
