Journal Title: Journal of Air Force Medical University - Year 2023, Vol 44, Issue 7

Abstract

Objective The resurgence of coronavirus disease 2019 ( COVID-19) pandemic in 2022 has posed a significant threat to the physical and mental health of the public. Based on this, this study analyzed the changing characteristics and development rules of the public mentality, so as to provide technical support for the government to better guide the public􀆳s coping mentality in the post-pandemic era. Methods A self-made questionnaire was used to study 34 806 public samples in China, Mplus 8. 3 to conduct latent class analysis of the public mentality, and SPSS 26. 0 to further analyze and investigate the variable factors in different dimensions. A 5-month follow-up survey was performed on 134 subjects by convenience sampling method, and the latent variable mixed growth model was used for data analysis. Results The public mentality under the COVID-19 pandemic was analyzed, and the potential categories of public̓s coping mentality were obtained ( class probability was 0. 60 / 0. 04 / 0. 15 / 0. 21, P < 0. 05). The dynamic development trajectory of public mentality under the COVID-19 pandemic was explored, as well as the predictive effects of gender and education on the development trajectory of public mentality under the COVID-19 pandemic (P < 0. 01). Conclusion The public mentality can be divided into four types. Under the epidemic situation, the public mentality fluctuates over time, and the dynamic development trajectory of the mentality in the four surveys has a time effect.
