ANALYSIS OF POWER LOSSES IN THE MESHING OF A TOOTHED CYLINDRICAL GEAR LUBRICATED BY THE IMMERSION METHOD

Abstract

In the paper the results of the theoretical analysis of power losses generated in the meshing of toothed cylindrical gears lubricated by the immersion method are presented. The initiations of oil in meshing were introduced for two characteristic cases: – the synchronous movement of pinion and wheel co-operating, and – the asynchronous movement of pinion and wheel co-operating. The essential difference of the pressing out of the oil from the meshing is presented. The accepted variables were the basic geometrical form of involute meshing, the parameters of the kinematic structure of transmission and the stickiness of oil lubricant. The computer simulation was conducted using nondimensional flow formulation of sticky liquid in narrow crevice meshes.<br/><br/>
