ANALYSIS OF THE WEAR OF THE SURFACE LAYERS IN NATURAL SOIL CONDITIONS

Abstract
The following paper presents research on the wear intensity of the surface layers in natural soil conditions. The study was conducted with the steel type XAR 600 and 38 GSA on the cutting surface where welds of cemented tungsten carbides had been applied. The results of the measurements of hardness and the chemical composition of the tested materials as well as their structure are presented. During the study, the processes of the wear of specific materials in their friction were analysed. Based on the results obtained from the field tests, we may observe an increase of the resistance to the mass wear and geometrical wear that can be seen on the length and width of samples that have been welded with XHD 6710 electrodes that additionally contain chromium carbides.
