ANTHROPONYMS AS A IDEOLOGIES

Abstract
The article outlines the problems of de-communization in Ukraine, which are associated, on the one hand, with a change in the country's geographical onomastics, and on the other, liberation from the influence of communist ideology. Anthroponyms and ideologies are designed to shape nationalistic values in the minds of Ukrainians. With the help of a survey and an associative experiment conducted among the student youth in Odessa, we tried to identify the evaluative marks of old and new ideologies in the minds of Ukrainians. Our study showed that among young residents of Odessa there is no clearly formed system of values and ideals, but the tendency to approve and adopt nationalist ideologies is clearly expressed, as evidenced by the prevalence of positive assessments of historical figures acting as symbols of Ukraine’s independence.
