Antibiotics in the recent years have become one of the most frequently used as well as misused drugs. As a result, acquired drug resistance has become a major clinical problem. Antibiotics are regularly prescribed by the dentist for the prophylactic and therapeutic purposes for orodental infections. However, their enormous use & misuse has raised a growing concern, for rising public as well as professional awareness regarding the ill effects of their over usage and development of drug resistance.
