Ataturk’s character in the prose dedicated to the national liberation struggle

Abstract
The article deals with the prose dedicated to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the greatest statesman, reformer, the founder and first president of the Republic of Turkey, one of the outstanding figures of the 20-th century. There are plenty of works written by Turkish and foreign writers about Ataturk. The article contains the analysis of such works. Ataturk’s character is given against a background of the real historical events his contemporaries’ and companions – in – arms’ memories. Ataturk is shown both as the greatest person and ordinary man with his feelings and emotions. It is emphasized that Ataturk was universally beloved by his people and respected by his enemies. The dignities and defects of the analyzed works are revealed and explained during the research.
