Atipically Located Piyoderma Gangrenozum Case

Journal Title: GENEL TIP DERGISI - Year 2018, Vol 28, Issue 3

Abstract

Pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that is present in a group of rare, compromised, neutrophilic dermatoses. It is seen in adult ages, especially ages 25-50. From the lesions that start as painful nodules or pustules, ulcers develop on the edges, which tend to be puffy, tender, and gradually expanding. Lesions may be seen as idiopathic, single or multiple lesions with or without systemic diseases such as malignancy, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, polyarthritis, monoclonal gammopathy. Here we present our case, which is a large, ulcerated, circumscribed, and erythematous lesion located at the left lateral gluteal region as atypically localized, biopside pyoderma gangrenosum taken from the wound side of the lesion.
