Chinese-French relations at the beginning of the XXI century

Abstract
The article analyzes current Chinese-French cooperation, which reveals the interaction of the two countries at the bilateral and regional levels. The author justified the expansion of foreign policy cooperation between France and China at the beginning of the 21st century; defines the nature of the French government attitude towards the Taiwan problem. Also the current state and factors of trade development between France and China at the beginning of the 21st century are characterized; perspectives of further development of cooperation between the two countries in the energy and investment fields are tracked; the commonand distinctive features of the positions of the PRC and France on international and regional problems within the UN framework have been determined. The author comes to the conclusion that the relations between the PRC and France are developing quite positively, and the reason for this is the development of practical cooperation between the parties based on the principles of respect, equality and mutual benefit. France is interested in developing mutually beneficial economic and trade ties with the PRC. Partnership with the PRC allows France to strengthen its positions within the EU. Along with this, the EU also uses official Paris s a foothold for building fruitful relations with the PRC. The importance of Sino-French relations is underscored by bilateral high-level government consultations, which are held annually in Paris and Beijing.
