CIRRHOSIS OF LIVER-CARE BY INDIGENOUS AND FOLK HERBAL MEDICINE

Abstract
Ayurveda, the oldest system of medicine emphasizes on the preventive and curative approach to health care. Liver and its ailments are approached in detail and the therapeutics used for its management is available throughout Ayurvedic literature. Several plants used in the management of hepatic disorders have come under the contemporary scientific scrutiny and established as effective. This paper is an attempt to review the indigenous and folk lore plant based sources used in liver diseases.
