Journal Title: Stanley Medical Journal - Year 2015, Vol 2, Issue 3
Abstract
Induced delusional disorder is a rare delusional disorder shared by two or more people with close emotional ties. While folie `a deux and folie `a trios are common, co-occurrence of two or more forms in a family is very rare. We present a case report where two induced delusional disorders are shared by three members of the family. Gralnick .classified induced delusional disorder into 4 subtypes. In the present case of folie `a trios, two subtypes are identified: folie communiquée - between the 2 sisters and folie induite - between the elder daughter and mother. To our knowledge, after literature review, this is the first case report with co-occurrence of folie communiquée and folie induite in a family
