COMPETENCE ASPECT OF PEDAGOGICAL SKILLS
Journal Title: Науковий вісник Південноукраїнського національного педагогічного університету імені К. Д. Ушинського - Year 2016, Vol 113, Issue 6
Abstract
While being training at the university, students must master the key system of psycho-pedagogical and subject knowledge and skills that could ensure qualified performance of professional activities. The article deals with a variety of definitions of professional skills through the prism of the competence-oriented approach. Professional competence is assessed by a level of formation of professional pedagogical skills. It means that teacher training is directed to learning outcomes of different characters. Teachers’ pedagogical skills are understood as an important component of educational activities, and their formation as the main part of the system of vocational and educational training. In this regard, researchers’ increased interest to the problem of formation of professional and pedagogical skills is justified. In pedagogical psychology, general didactics and methods of separate disciplines much attention is paid to the problems of formation of students' skills. The concept of «skills» is defined as a synthetic property of the individual possessing a flexible system of conscious, purposeful, generalized interconnected thinking who is able to act, basing on abilities, skills and knowledge, as well as to successfully perform operations in variable environments. Thus, the concept "pedagogical skills" is defined as the possession of a flexible system of conscious, purposeful, related to mental and practical actions that allow a teacher to successfully carry out teaching and educational functions within a changing environment.
