COMPLEX STAND-IMITATOR FOR OPERATING CHARACTERISTICS RESEARCH OF SOLAR PANELS
Journal Title: Електромеханічні і енергозберігаючі системи - Year 2018, Vol 4, Issue 44
Abstract
Purpose. The work is devoted to the synthesis of an integrated laboratory simulator stand, designed to study the electrical characteristics of solar panels and to learn how to work with programmable logic controllers. Methodology. The stand consists of three solar panels, sources of artificial lighting to change the illumination of the panels over a wide range, panel measuring devices, three types of load. Switching panels and loads is possible both in manual mode using jumper wires and remotely using the touch panel controller СПК107. The information system is based on the common RS-485 network interfaces and the Modbus protocol. A virtual analogue of the stand is presented using the LabVIEW application development environment. Results. The developed stand allows to analyze the operation of solar panels in different modes with changing lighting conditions. A software device based on the СПК107 controller with additional modules of discrete outputs and analog inputs allows you to remotely assemble the connection circuit of the panels and fix the electrical parameters. Programming and setting up the visualization of СПК107 is performed in the unified programming environment CODESYS 3.5. The experimental and calculated volt-ampere characteristics for one of the stand operation options are presented: “one panel-LED strip”. Originality. The developed structure of the stand makes it possible to conduct research for 55 variants of switching equipment, including the main modes of operation of solar panels – the idle mode and short circuit. The touch screen controller allows to remotely control the connection scheme of solar panels and the load, as well as record the results of research. The structure and components of the developed stand were chosen to ensure high flexibility and possibilities for further modernization of the functional needs of the system. Practical value. The concept of the developed stand is aimed at enhancing the professional training of electrical engineers and includes practical issues related to the study of solar panel characteristics, programming logic controllers, principles of building local and remote systems for microprocessor control of industrial facilities.
