CONCERTMASTER ACTIVITY: THE PROBLEM OF THE DEFINITION THE CONCEPT, THE ESSENCE OF THE PHENOMENON, MODERN REALITIES OF PERFORMANCE

Abstract
The article focuses on the study of the concertmaster's activities. It is noted that the concept of "concertmaster" in modern musical culture has several meanings, denoting the professional activity of the first violinist or the leader of the instrumental group in the orchestra and the pianist-accompanist. The identity of tasks facing concertmaster is emphasized, which presupposes the need to perform solo parts, to play in ensemble with other instruments, to act as a teacher. The task of an accompanist is to provide psychological comfort for all participants of musical communication. Due to the fact that the concertmaster has considerable experience working with various performers, he acts as original translator of their creative heritage, which emphasizes his extremely important role in the educational process.
