CONNOTONYMS AS EVALUATION MEANS FOR THE MEN’S INTELLECTUAL ABILITIES

Abstract
The article explores the connotative personal names, defining a foolish man in the Russian and the Ukrainian anthroponymicon. The main attention has been given to the semantic, linguocultural and cognitive aspects of the world perception through the secondary nominations of the men’s mental abilities. Connotonyms as verbal representants of men’s intellect show the following common model of the “fool” – foolish, plain, narrow-minded, uneducated, naïve. The model of the “smart one” includes such components as “ingenuity”, “wisdom”, “creativity”, “intelligence”. However, such connotonyms have been found only in ironical contexts, which also adds the pejorative mark to them.
