Cooperation of Serbia’s Ukrainians with foreign countries' public in the field of culture (1980-1990s)

Abstract
The article deals with the cultural cooperation of Serbia's Ukrainians with foreign countries during the 80-90-ies years of the twentieth century. Typically, Ukrainians of Serbia directed their international activities primarily on communication with arts and cultural and community organizations in Ukraine, which was caused by natural draft to the land of their origin and compatriots, with which was extremely difficult communicate in Soviet times. Contacts with representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora institutions in other countries abroad developed less frequently. By starting successfully establish the contacts from the mid-80s, in the early 90s of the twentieth century Ukrainians of Serbia had to adapt to the new social and political realities caused by the collapse of Yugoslavia, the Soviet Union and changes in the whole Central and Eastern Europe. On the one hand, the consolidation of democratic norms, as a result of geopolitical changes, contributed to the international dialogue, on the other - a series of crises that accompanied these changes complicated the process of establishing links with the Ukrainians of Serbia with international community. The cooperation primarily was distributed to the geographically closest countries of Central and Eastern Europe, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary. In contacts with Ukraine was observed a certain pattern - an attempt to combine communication in the cultural sphere with material support that could be given to the Ukrainians of Serbia during the military conflicts that continued there in 90 years of XX century. Ukrainian organization of Serbia in the 80-90-ies years of XX century did not have stable and regular international connections with foreign countries. However, each time at least one association represented Ukrainians of Serbia at some international event. Similar forums consolidated Ukrainians, as well as representatives of other nations who lived outside their country of origin.
