Reasons, dynamics of emigrant streams from Ukraine and social-demographic description of migrants in 1990s

Abstract

As a result of considerable geopolitical changes on spaces of the former USSR, formation of the independent Ukrainian state, democratization of public life, in particular simplification of procedure of crossing of border and change of residence, economic crisis and falling of standard of life of population outwardly migratory processes in Ukraine then tested substantial changes after 1991. Their character, composition and orientation, purchased a new value. A mass return became possible on the motherland of deported and subjected to repression. Into the important element of migratory situation such category of migrant’s grew as refugees. Departure of population in more developed and rich countries, first of all highly skilled specialists, compelled to talk about the «outflow of minds». The problem of illegal migration, complication of that is conditioned by that Ukraine appeared unready neither legislatively, appeared sharp enough, nor organizationally to her decision. Departure from territory already independent Ukraine on different, foremost socio-economic reasons in 1990th, comparatively plenty of citizens, on a temporal or permanent residence abroad got the name of fourth wave of Ukrainian emigration. The relations between the process of migration and social change in Ukraine; turns change direction, the volume of emigration and dynamics of migration flows. The basic flow of emigration from Ukraine and analyzed the socio-demographic characteristics of migrants.
