Cuidado y conservación de prótesis acrílicas en pacientes geriátricos de la Clínica Estomatológica Puentes Grandes

Abstract
Descriptive cross-sectional study in 150 geriatric patients with prostheses who were treated at Puentes Grandes Stomatological Clinic during the period from January 2016 to June 2018. This study aimed to characterize compliance with biomechanical principles, care and conservation of the acrylic prosthesis in the mentioned population. The analysis of the data was carried out by means of statistical tests of the descriptive level (relative and absolute frequencies) and the inferential level chi-square of independence, which what was facilitated when organizing them in a Microsoft Excel database. The female representatives (66%) and those of the age group between 60 and 74 years (65.3%) predominated. In addition to the regular category (53.3%) regarding the care and preservation of the prosthesis. According to the results of GOHAI, the moderate quality of oral life prevailed, which was significantly associated with sex and age.
