Descrierea diagramatică a prelucrării imaginilor satelitare în aplicaţia GreenLand

Abstract
Cerinţele societăţii moderne şi predicţiile fenomenelor naturale stau la baza dezvoltării aplicaţiilor, folosite pentru monitorizarea şi analizarea diferitelor fenomene din domeniul Ştiinţelor Pământului. Lucrarea de faţă experimentează metode de prelucrare a imaginilor satelitare prin intermediul aplicaţiei GreenLand. Descrierea acestor metode în formă vizuală reprezintă unul dintre obiectivele principale ale aplicaţiei de faţă. Pentru aceasta au fost definite noţiuni şi concepte noi, referitoare la operatori şi grafuri matematice. Pentru a facilita definirea practică a acestor noţiuni, a fost necesară implementarea unor editoare de grafuri. Acestea folosesc tehnici avansate de interacţiune, care permit utilizatorului dezvoltarea şi utilizarea grafurilor complexe (hipergrafuri) în cadrul procesărilor GreenLand. Platformele gProcess şi ESIP (Environment Oriented Satellite Data Processing Platform) au un rol important în dezvoltarea aplicaţiei GreenLand, oferind servicii pentru generarea, accesul şi gestionarea grafurilor de execuţie. Procesarea datelor spaţiale de dimensiuni mari (imagini satelitare în particular) necesită maşini puternice de calcul. Datorită acestui fapt procesele de execuţie, oferite de aplicaţia GreenLand, sunt dezvoltate ca şi servicii ale platformei Grid. Aceasta oferă spaţii de stocare de dimensiuni mari precum şi resurse puternice de calcul, capabile de a executa procese paralele într-un interval redus de timp.
