Design Antipodal Vivaldi Antenna (APVA) at 60GHZ using Silicon
Journal Title: MALTESAS Multi-Disciplinary Research Journal - Year 2016, Vol 1, Issue 2
Abstract
The 60 GHz short-range wireless communication system has gained a lot of attention because it is believed to have a high rate of data communications with free licensed frequency band. Thus, development of the 60 GHz antenna is a crucial issue in the system. This paper focuses on the design of an antipodal Vivaldi antenna (APVA) at 60 GHz for wireless communications. The antenna is designed by comparing the performance by using Silicon as material substrates. The parameters to be observed in this paper include return loss and bandwidth of the antenna. The performance of the antenna is simulated by using CST Microwave Studio software with the range of frequency between 50GHz to 70GHz.
