DOES LAMINECTOMY FOR DORSAL NEOPLASMS CREATE INSTABILITY
Journal Title: Journal of Turkish Spinal Surgery - Year 1992, Vol 3, Issue 3
Abstract
Laminectomy is a ıvidely used approach to the dorsal spinal tumors. However, there are objections to perform-ing without a stabilizing procedure. We revievved our patients who had been undergone a laminectomy procedure for dorsal spinal tumors during the last ten years. Except one, we did not need any stabilizing technique in thirtyone cases. Postoperatively, no instability was observed on radiological examinations. So instability shouid not be con-sidered as a disadvantage for laminectomy performed in normal limits.

DO BOTULINUM TOXIN-A INJECTIONS INTO THE PARASPINAL MUSCLES CREATE AN IDIOPATHIC LIKE SCOLIOSIS: AN IN VIVO STUDY ON RATS
Objective: Scoliosis is a spine deformity and also involves some adaptive changes of in paraspinal muscles and ligaments. Some studies found paraspinal EMG activity differences, thus, we hypothesized that blocking the...
THE APPLICATION OF ALICI SPINAL INSTRUMENTATION IN THE SURGICAL TREATMENT OF SCOLIOSIS+
The surgical treatment of 34 patients with scoliosis was performed using anterior spinal and posterior spinal instruments. The instruments were designed in such a way that all of the frontal, sagittal, and axial deformit...
IMPORTANCE OF SOFT TISSUES İN THE MECHANICAL STAB1LITY OF VERTEBRAL FRACTURES
The evaluation of spinal instability due to vertebral fractures is occasionally troublesome. Ligaments and soft tissues are as important as bony structures in maintaining the stability of adult spinal fractures. İn patie...
