DYNAMIKA PROCESU PRZEBUDOWY DRZEWOSTANÓW GÓRSKICH NA GRUNTACH POROLNYCH

Abstract
The paper presents problems of forest development of non-used arable lands in the mountains. On the sample of chosen objects in Forest Experimental Station (FES) in Krynica created as a result of afforestation in years 1945–51 meadows and pastures the assessment of conversion degree of three type of stands classified in year 1976 as: (1) Scots pine – spruce, (2) Scots pine – others, (3) Spruce – others. For this purposes the results of periodic measurements on control sample plots established in statistical – mathematical system of forest control and inventory. In the work result of four followed forest inventory carried out in years: 1976, 2000, 2005, and 2010 on 75 permanent sample plots locat- ed in the net of squares100 × 100m were presented. Obtained result, despite relatively short period of observation (34 years) shows that in particular site conditions, on non forest area different variants of stands species composition can be realized without disturbance of their stability. The most profitable changes from the silviculture point of view and economic goals of conversion run in stands classified in 1976 as Scots pine – spruce and Scots pine – others. In year 2010 these stands characterized signif- icant share of target species composition (53 and 56% of total number of trees respectively) and the biggest periodic increase of volume (from 82 to 87%).
