Abstract

Children and Money Understanding the value of money in the monetary system, coping with money calculations in the sense of purchase and sale as well as the ability to manage money belong to important life skills, essential in the development of economic awareness of children. Money is a difficult matter of scientific considerations, which was indicated in the article. In addition, the article presents the results of surveys conducted among students of pedagogy about money and its importance in the economic upbringing of the youngest children. The results of that survey are analyzed and interpreted in the context of previously conducted and published results of surveys on the same subject which were carried out among the third and sixth grade students of primary school. The article ends with a reflection on teacher training in elementary and preschool education in the field of economic education.
