EDUCAÇÃO A DISTÂNCIA: CONSTRUÇÕES QUE CONTRIBUEM PARA A SATISFAÇÃO DO ALUNO NA UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DE SANTA MARIA

Abstract

The increasing investment of higher education institutions in distance education highlights the importance of digital technologies in the pursuit of quality education. In this sense, this study aimed to identify and explain statistically the factors that lead to the satisfaction of distance education students at the Federal University of Santa Maria. This research is characterized as descriptive, of the survey type, using the quantitative approach. In order to collect the data, a theoretical model that defines dimensions, constructs and variables that enabled data analysis was adapted. Participants in this research were students of undergraduate and graduate distance education programs from the system of the Open University of Brazil of the Federal University of Santa Maria. The statistical technique of multiple linear regression was used to explain the relationships between the dependent and independent variables of the model used. Finally, it was evidenced that student satisfaction is explained by the following constructs: course quality, course flexibility, perceived usefulness and ease of use, being the first two related to the course dimension and the two others to the dimension of the teaching model.
