Effect of Cyanobacterial Culture and Pretreatment of Low Temperature on Seed Germination and Growth of Crop Plants

Abstract

Seeds are a vital component of the world’s diet. High yield and cost effective production can achieved only through the proper management of fertilizer and seeds. Present work is set out to provide understanding of the factors affecting seed germination. This research shows the cyanobacterial culture effect along with low temperature on seed germination. The result of this study suggests the low temperature treatment may be key to shortening the plant life cycle of the three staple crops. This result can be attributing to vernalization which is a well defined process in plant physiology.
