Abstract
The work of fire-thermal protection materials takes place in extreme conditions associated with high temperature, pressure and high velocity gas stream. The operating conditions also dictate the maximum possible reduction in thermal conductivity and material density. One of the promising ways to solve this problem is the use of mineral fillers (perlite, silicon carbide) and the microfiber fillers, forming a "grid" increases the erosion resistance of the material. The object of the study was vulcanizates based on ethylene-propylene diene rubber with a sulfur vulcanizing group. The introduction of a combination of microspheres and perlite has practically no effect on the physicomechanical and vulcanization characteristics of the material, but it significantly affects the fireproofing properties - the warm-up time of the unheated surface of the sample is increased by 30-50% compared to the control sample containing no additives and by 10-30% compared with the introduction of some microspheres or perlite. There is also a decrease in the mass loss of the sample during high-temperature heating and the rate of linear combustion. With the joint introduction of perlite and microspheres, a porous carbon-mineral coke structure is formed, which ensures a high fireproofing ability of the material.
