EMBODIMENT OF THE IDEAS OF HRYHORII VASHCHENKO INTO THE ACTIVITY OF PUBLIC YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS OF WESTERN UKRAINIAN DIASPORA

Abstract
Realization of the ideas of the prominent Ukrainian pedagogue H. H. Vashchenko (1878-1967) as for the national education of the younger generations of Ukrainians, in particular his slogans «Service to God and Ukraine» and the educational ideal of Ukrainian in multi-aspect activity of public youth organizations in the Ukrainian Diaspora of Canada and the United States have been revealed in the article. The directions, forms, content, methods and means of educational activity of public organizations «Plast» and the Union of Ukrainian youth in the formation of national consciousness of Ukrainians abroad and their state-patriotic education, the basis of which was formed by the works of H. Vashchenko «Educational Ideal» (1946) and «Upbringing of Will and Character» (1952) have been analyzed.
