ENERGY POLICY OF THE EUROPEAN UNION TO 2050 AND POLISH LAW ABOUT RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES

Abstract
Energy production in the countries of the European Union is based on the use of power raw material of hydrocarbon origin, i.e. black coal, brown coal, oil and natural gas. Nevertheless, the use of energy from renewable sources grows very quickly. Polish energy is based mostly on the use of coal. Consequently, adoption of ecological European Union politics generates in the Polish power economy substantial economic consequences in the form of price increase on the electricity. Expenses on the increase of energy production from renewable sources have to correlate with ecological benefi ts that will arise in the environment. Consequently, there is a hope that a new law concerning renewable sources of energy will ensure the substantial improvement of the environment.
