Escaping motive in timespace discourse in O. Zhupanskiy novel «Ragamuffi n» («Lakhmitnyk»)

Abstract
The article is dedicated to investigation of escaping motive in chronotypical continuum novel O. Zhupanskiy «Ragamuf¿ n» («Lakhmitnyk»). In the study escapism is de¿ ned by his own and othersҲ space existence protagonist. His space (house, park, library, space imagination) is a comfortable environment for reÀ ection, identity, experiences loneliness. Other space (school, streets, city) destroy the hero, causing pathological conditions such as resentment, fear, anxiety, a desire for revenge. Escapism is treated as an alternative way out of the stress generated by the pressure of society, violence, humiliation, misunderstanding. The article analyzes the speci¿ cs of the psychological nature of the character, formed exclusion, disharmony, hostile alien spaces. It is noted that the appearance of an imaginary space caused numerous psychological stressful situations that form the existential aspect of the novel.
