Abstract
Abstract: One of the methods of mitigation used in political discourse is the euphemism, which not just avoid undesireable aspects from political area, but also protects the receiver. The euphemism represents a powerful weapon which is used by politicians and journalists in order to express the elusive point of view upon politics. Zusammenfassung: Der Euphemismus kann in verhüllender Form in verschiedenen Bereichen auftreten, vor allem in politischer Verwendung, der nicht nur unerwünschte Aspekte der politischen Arena vermeidet, sondern auch den Rezipienten schützt. Er ist eine mächtige Waffe, die sowohl von Politikern, als auch von Journalisten häufig verwendet wird, um sich über die Politik situativ undeutlich und verschleiernd zu äußern .
