Evaluation of Education and cultural development in Lorestan province

Abstract
Education is considered as an Islamic instrument for cultural development, and consequently as a base for development in sup-sections of the country. Without utilizing a potent lever of education, a society will face difficulties in reaching development. This research was performed by the use of educational indices in order to identify the degree of development in regions-towns in Lorestan province. With respect to produce, this research is analytic-descriptive. The statistical community was the whole of township in Lorestan province. In order to perform this research we designed 12 major indices of the year 2007 and accomplished the ranking (classification) using the method of digital taxonomy. The results from analyzing the townships of Poldokhtar with the development degree of 0.50887 and Azna with development degree of 0.65779 show that they have the ranks 1 and 2 , respectively. In other words, we can say that they are the most developed townships in the province. The townships Doroud with development degree of 0.85030 and Kouhdasht with 0.94440 possess the ranks 9 and 10, respectively, that is a sign of uneven development, and also a large space between the townships 1 and 2 on one side and the townships 8 and 9 on the other side.
