Mesrutiyet. For that purpose, the views about morality of Abdullah Cevdet, Celal Nuri and Tevfik Fikret, who were the defendants of westernist view-point, are examined. The core point upon which intellectuals and political movements agreed was the question of “how the country could be saved?” The answer of that question was “the salvation of the county could be only by a well moral education”. Since there was a thought which was prevailed in that period that the main reason of the problems which had been faced after World War I and the cause of defeats were moral degradation. However, there was difference in thought about the bases on which moral education established. Some believed that moral education should be based on religious principles, while others defend the moral education based on western pedagogical principles.
