Examining the Effect of Abacus Training On Creativity and Self-Efficacy of Fifth-Grade Female Students in Urmia City

Abstract

The aim of the present study is to examine the effect of abacus training on creativity and self-efficacy of fifth-grade female students in Urmia. The study is applied and quasi-experimental in terms pf he goal and control. The statistical population comprised of all 11186 fifth-grade female students and 40 students were chosen as the sample size and were assigned to two 20 groups. The experimental group were instructed by 12 sessions of treatments held for 45 minutes each in which mathematic was treated by means of abacus and the control group received the same content with traditional method. The data were analyzed using covariance analysis method. The results indicated that abacus training had an effect on the creativity, fluid creativity, originality and elaboration on the efficacy of fifth grade students.
