EXOSKELETONS WITHIN CONTEMPORARY INTEGRATED ENVIRONMENTS

Abstract
An exoskeleton is a kind of robot to be worn as a suit, effectively supporting or substituting the user’s movements. Its distinctive features can lead to important changes in many areas, including rehabilitation and a battlefield. The functionality of exoskeletons can be extended by integrated environments, including the presented integrated IT environment of a disabled person and the equipment of the 21st century soldier. This article aims at investigating the extent to which the available opportunities are being exploited, including the directions for further research and threats.
