Facebook as A Way to Internationalize the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises from Mexico

Journal Title: International Journal of Business and Management Invention - Year 2018, Vol 7, Issue 3

Abstract

This research aims to describe the internationalization process of micro, small, and medium companies through Facebook, which is used as a means to carry out international transactions. To achieve this objective, owners and decision-makers of seven companies were interviewed. It was found that Facebook offers these companies an opportunity for faster internationalization, as a simple Facebook exposure helps companies in targeting customers from anywhere in the world. It can save costs in commercial operations, reduce transaction barriers, and eliminate the physical limitations of time and space; hence, companies can increase their sales and access distant markets. Numerous researches have addressed the topic of internationalization but not through social networks. The originality of this document lies in addressing the issue of internationalization through social networks, such as the Facebook, which have been deemed as effective tools for exportation.
