FACIAL SOFT TISSUE INJURIES AT DAMASCUS HOSPITAL IN SYRIAN CRISIS

Abstract
Introduction: We worked hard to find out what happened through the Syrian war, which began at 2011, and left behind many injures. This study aimed to review facial soft tissue injuries related to Syrian crisis damages. Materials and Methods: This is a retrospective study at Damascus Hospital between 1/1/2017 and 31/3/2018) including all cases of facial soft tissue injuries related to war damages during the studied period. Results: This study had 292 patients. Wounds were found in 77.6% of all skin injuries. Pinna incisal wounds were 43.4% of all pinna injuries. Upper lip injuries were 55.7% of all lips injuries. The facial nerve and parotid gland injuries were 1.4% - 1.7% respectively of all patients. Conclusion: Wounds were the most common skin injuries. Pinna incisal wounds were the most common pinna injuries. Upper lip injuries were the most common lips injuries. The facial nerve and parotid gland injuries were 1.4% - 1.7% respectively of all patients.
