FACTORES PSICOSOCIALES Y ABSENTISMO LABORAL EN EL CONTEXTO DE LA ENSEÑANZA SUPERIOR

Abstract
Psychosocial factors are related to institutional conditions, with management styles, competences and needs of workers; if they constitute a danger to health and safety, the psychosocial risk is imminent. Absenteeism is common in the workplace, resulting from an inability to go to work. The objective is identify the psychosocial factors associated with absenteeism in a university institution. The methodology is quantitative approach, analytical comparative design. Data collection: monthly reports, for three consecutive years; medical records and survey. Sample: 1070 workers. The results are distribution by area 54% of teachers; 45% administrative. Absenteeism rate: 5% - 7%. Psychosocial factors and medics (3:7). Work stress (5:10); unfavorable perception of work climate (6:10); high responsibility, pressure; monotonous work, fatigue and job dissatisfaction (7:10). The conclusions is the absenteeism in women doubles men. It is recommended to review policies, implementation of a culture of prevention and promotion of physical and mental health of the worker.
