«FROM EMILE DUNIKOVSKY TO OLEKSANDER SEVRIUK»: DESCRIPTIONS OF THE TRIPS TO THE CASTLE OF TUSHTAN’ IN URYCH (THE END OF THE XIX – THE BEGINNING OF THE XX CENTURY)

Abstract
The purpose of the given research is to introduce into the scientific circulation some episodes from the history of Urych and the petroglyphic fortress of «Tustan», namely, of the travels of various researchers, tourists, simply people at rest from different national communities who during the period of time from 1892 to 1913 collected – to an extent, quite a unique, base of testimonies on the past of this monument of nature and, at the same time, of human activity. Alexander Sevriuk, who – in the due time – was the ambassador of the Ukrainian state to the Brest-Litovsk peace negotiations, arrived here and left one of rare descriptions of his climbing the castle rocks, on which this research treats.
