GLOBALISATION – OPPORTUNITY OR THREAT TO MODERN WORLD

Abstract
The description presents, on the basis of selected literature, an attempt to define the essence of globalization in terms of opportunities and threats to the modern world. Presented were the definition and the process of globalization, which is closely related to the two highlighted areas: social and economic. In addition, there was made an attempt to determine the benefits and costs related with the process of globalization, as well as shown in the balance sheet of globalization in terms of entities that benefit from the process, and those that are leaky.
