Abstract
The following paper is dedicated to the priorities of the Russian presidency in the Council of Baltic Sea States, which partly were defined as the result of the priorities of the foregoing German presidency. According to the announcement of the Russian authorities, Russian presidency was based on the principle of continuity and largely drew on the achievements and experiences of other countries. Russian Presidency should be considered relatively active in comparison with the previous ones, taking under consideration the number and the scope of undertaken initiatives.
