Historical sources of origin and development music education in german chantons of Switzerland

Abstract
The article focuses on the history of musical education in German cantons of Switzerland, evolutionary processes from the times of the Carolingian renaissance, the Middle Ages, and the main musical and educational traditions that have been accumulated in court and monastic schools. At the initial stages of study, catechisms, elementary foundations of the trivia (grammar, rhetoric, and dialectics) were studied, and higher-level schools – quadrivium science (arithmetic, geometry, astronomy, and music). The survey of the contemporary researches and publications discovered in the thesaurus of foreign music pedagogy
