But in the first Turkish novels there are the traces of masnavi which is one of the strongest traditional genres. Despite this similarities stemmimg from the fact that masnavi is a literary genre depending on narrative, there are extensive differences between two genres in terms of organizing time. In this article, Şeyh Galip’s Hüsn ü Aşk is analyzed in the context of perception of time and speed considering especially the thoughts of Italo Calvino and Tzvetan Todorov on time in traditional and modern narrative.
