Identification and Ranking Deterrent Factors of People with Physical and Dynamic Disabilities from Participating in Sports

Abstract
This study aimed at identify and rank the factors that didn't let Shiraz city people who have physical and dynamic disabilities do physical activities. Present field study was a descriptive one. Statistical population of the study were whole of the physical and dynamic disabled people of Shiraz (N= 10029), and with aid of Morgan table and random sampling the number of 375 of those were selected as the statistical sample. The tool for collecting data was 2 questionnaires, 1. A scholar made questionnaire for deterrent factors, and 2. Personal characteristics questionnaire, with 27 five valued questions that were divided into 4 contexts. The questionnaire nominal and contextual validity were determined with 12professors of physical education faculty of Shahid Chamran university of Ahwaz city. Constituent validity was KMO= 0.77 and its reliability by Cronbach's were calculated 0.87. In this study we used methods of descriptive statistics for describing the study variables, Kolmogrov – Smirnov test for normality, and inferential statistics (Friedman test) for testing and ranking. Results showed that 58.2% of samples have participated in sport activities, the results of Friedman ranking test showed, 1. Environmental deterrent factors (transportation), 2. Economical factors, 3. Facilities related factors and, 4. Socio – cultural factors, respectively, was the most important deterrent factors that didn't let the disabled participate in physical activities.
