IMPLEMENTATION OF THE VECTOR CONTROL SYSTEM FOR TRACTION ASYNCHRONOUS MOTORS
Journal Title: ANALELE UNIVERSITATII DIN CRAIOVA - Seria Inginerie electrica - Year 2011, Vol 35, Issue 35
Abstract
The paper describes the InBus-103 electronic equipment for the trolleybus traction system with vector controlled asynchronous motor. Based on the experience acquired during more years and hundreds of equipment installed and operational on urban vehicles from different cities, the equipment was developed using of the IGBT transistor technology, 32 bits Fujitsu micro-processors control systems, informational systems with optic fibers and CAN protocols. Due to the modular structure of the power electronics equipment and software implementation which has been developed within multifunction electronic control equipment, the whole system can be used both for trams and trolleybuses traction, using either AC or DC motors. It has also been developed a modern, user friendly graphic board panel which indicates all the functionality of the system. Laboratory tests were performed by using the facility of the company. They were followed by open field tests on a trolley prototype, also the property of the company. The trolley was loaded more than the rated value and the requirements higher than the specifications. All the tests have proven the good functionality of the equipment. According to the technical parameters, the exploitation facilities, the control algorithms and the performed functions, the InBus-103 proved to be a competitive product on the market of electric traction dedicated to the passenger urban units.

Modern AC Drive System with Induction Machine
The induction machine is widespread in AC drive system. The energy efficiency of the induction machine during dynamic regimes is up to 40%. Therefore, for the electrical drives with frequent dynamics (starting, breaki...
Energetic Influence of Motor Power in Drive Systems with Space-Vector Static Converters and Induction Motors
The static converters are a vital component of modern drive systems, which in turn are indispensable in industrial equipment designed for small or large complexity, because the achievement of finished goods implies...
Diminishing the Computational Burden when Analyzing Electrical Signals with Long Wavelet Filters
Wavelet analysis is characterized by filters with irrational coefficients and runtimes increasing with filters order. The terminal nodes of Wavelet Packet decomposition trees exhibit good harmonics’ selectivity when impl...
Predictive versus Classic Control of the Induction Motor Drives
The paper deals with techniques which use the predictive concepts in order to obtain both the pulse width modulation strategy of a voltage fed inverter and the predictive control of the induction motor drive. Concerning...
Comparison of the Conservative Power Theory (CPT) with Budeanu’s Power Theory
It is shown in this paper that the Conservative Power Theory (CPT) describes power properties of electrical circuits in a way which has a strong analogy to this description in terms of Budeanu’s power theory which misint...
