In vitro antioxidant activity of hydroalcoholic extract of Cyamopsis tetragonolobus

Journal Title: Journal of Pharmacy Research - Year 2011, Vol 4, Issue 9

Abstract

The present investigation was conducted to investigate the in-vitro activity of hydro alcoholic extract of seeds of Cyamopsis tetragonolobus by using D P P H radical scavenging activity, nitric oxide radical scavenging activity, hydrogen peroxide radical scavenging activity, hydroxyl radical and reducing power activity. The results were expressed as IC50 value. Significant results were obtained in the estimated parameter. Thus, indicating that the seeds of Cyamopsis tetragonolobus have significant anti-oxidant activity.
