INFLUENCE OF FRICTION FORCES ON THE PROPERTIES OF PRODUCTS MADE BY THICKENING OF LOOSE MATERIALS

Abstract

In the paper, the analysis of friction force distribution in the consolidated loose material was made. The sand-lime mix was subjected to compression. Distribution of pτ(z) pressures related to this mix (caused by friction forces and p(z) pressure) on side walls of the mould are described. The friction model Amontons-Coulomb was used to describe a compression pressure ψ = fξ. A new consolidation coefficient ψ = fξ was calculated. The influence of friction forces on the properties of the formed material is described. The decrease in side pressures was accompanied by increased absorptivity, decreased density, and a resistance of the material to compression.
