Abstract
The article analyzes the definitions of the "information" concept proposed by different authors, reveals the essence and content of the "information" concept and the associated "data" concept. The author's definition of the concept "information" is given. Information is considered in the context of sustainable development of higher education institutions. The definition of the concept of "sustainable development of institutions of higher education" is given. The essence of information and communication support of sustainable development of higher educational institutions is characterized. The content of information is defined as the basis for information and communication support for the sustainable development of higher education institutions.
