Journal Title: Alquipir - Year 2022, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
This article tells us about the paintings found in the Cuevas de las Conchas, del Humo and las Palomas, of the Peña Rubia de Cehegín. In the first place, in the Cave of the Shells we find three human figures that seem to float in the space, two handle a bow while the third one handles a kind of javelin in his right hand, in addition we find a quadruped of ambiguous interpretation. In second place we have the Smoke Cave, in which we find two zoomorphic figures and four anthropomorphic figures, one of which is female, and we also find calcitic formations. Finally, in the cave of Las Palomas de la Peña Rubia in Cehegín, we find that it is the most difficult to access, but this is compensated by the large number of paintings that are distributed in three different panels. Anthropomorphic representations predominate, carrying bows and others in dance attitude, that in the first panel, in the second one we find a deer and in the third panel a doe. We also found calcitic formations. After the analysis of the paintings we find that we are informed about the methodology used in the field and in the laboratory and finally we are given a summary and some conclusions.
