Insights of Technology Generated Researchers: A Phenomenological Approach

Abstract
This is qualitative research that applied the phenomenological approach, intended to understand the lived experiences of technology-generated researchers towards their research undertakings. Eight technology-generated researchers who have completed at least two technology-generated research papers and projects participated in the pursuance of the study. The instrument used was a researcher-made open-ended questionnaire that was content validated prior to its utilization. A follow-up interview among the participants was also conducted to supplement the needed data. Data were analyzed through the following steps: epoche, phenomenological reduction, imaginative variation and formation of synthesis. The data drawn from the participants’ narratives pointed out three major themes. These are the manifested characteristics of technology-generated researchers, the challenges met during the development of technology-generated research and the perceived values in the production of the technology-generated researches toward personal and community development.
